Kozhikode: The doctor at the National Hospital here who operated on the wrong leg of a woman has admitted that he made a mistake on a video captured by the relatives of the victim.
Kozhikode native Sajna was admitted for surgery on her left leg. However, Dr. Behirshan, orthopaedic surgeon at the hospital, who had been treating Sajna for the past eight months for pain, conducted an operation on her right leg.
The video shows relatives talking with the doctor and other hospital representatives inside an office. The doctor admitted that he operated on the wrong leg and said he had no more explanations.
Sajna was discharged and shifted to Kozhikode Medical College Hospital. Nadakkavu police have registered a case against Dr Behirshan.
