Kerala School Kalolsavam in Kozhikode: 14,000 students to participate in 239 competitions

Kozhikode: The land of Kozhikode is all set to host the 61st Kerala State School Kalolsavam, which is scheduled to be held from January 3 to 7 2023.

Interestingly, Kozhikode has been selected as the venue of the festival for the eighth time. Competitions will be held in 239 categories in 24 venues.

A total of 14,000 students are expected to participate in the festival.

The festival will be flagged off by general education director K Jeevan Babu on January 3 at Captain Vikram Maidan in West Hill here. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the event at 10 am.

After the inauguration, Mohiniyattam competition of high school students will start on the first stage.The closing ceremony will be inaugurated by Opposition Leader VD Satheesan on January 7 at 4 pm.

“Experts from inside and outside Kerala have been selected as the jury members of the competitions,” said Education Minister V Sivankutty.

An appeal committee has also been set up to take decisions in times of disputes over results. In addition, vehicle parking facilities have been set up at the Government Polytechnic College.
