
Malappuram: A fifteen-year-old boy was taken into custody by the Kondotty police on Tuesday in connection with the attempt to sexually assault a 21-year-old woman here. The boy has confessed, the police said. The incident took place on Monday afternoon.
The accused is a neighbour of the survivor. He was caught following the inquiry based on the CCTV visuals from the area. The woman had told the police that the attacker was an obese man without beard or moustache.

The boy also had sustained injuries. He had told his parents, and later the police, that he sustained the injuries as he fell after being chased by a stray dog.
It was on Tuesday afternoon the woman, who is a college student, was attacked at Kottukkara in Kondotty. She was dragged in to a farm nearby. He attacked her with a rock when she tried to escape. Her hand were tied. She somehow managed to escape from the place and approached a family in the locality for help. She is undergoing treatment at Kozhikode Medical College hospital.
