Kottarakkara: The police fined a man after he lowered his mask to eat peanuts. A man hailing from Thottammukku was levied Rs 500 as fine.

The person was waiting for bus at Kottarakkara private bus stand. As he could not pay the fine, the police took him to police station. Later, a political activist helped the person to get bail.

The man was fined when he was returning after daily labour at Chaliyakkara estate for Rs 600. He was fined for not wearing mask properly and for not maintaining social distance.

Reacting to the incident, the person said that he only bought the peanut and tried to eat it as the bus to Thottammukku was a little late.
