Thrissur: Kongad MLA K. V. Vijayadas (61) passed away around 7.45 pm on Monday. 

He was undergoing treatment for cerebral haemorrhage at Thrissur Government Medical College after recovering from coronavirus. 

After testing negative for the virus, Vijayadas was diagnosed with ailments to the heart and lungs. While undergoing treatment for cerebral haemorrhage, his health condition deteriorated and was taken to the ICU. 

Vijayadas, who was undergoing treatment at the Thrissur Medical College had undergone a surgery recently.

Vijayadas was the first president of Palakkad panchayat and was elected to the Assembly from Kongad in 2011 and 2016. He was a member of the CPI (M) Palakkad district secretariat.
