Malappuram: The death of a Bihar native guest worker in Kondotty was a case of mob lynching, said Kerala police on Sunday.
Rajesh Manjhi (36) was found dead in Kizhisseri on Saturday. The incident occurred in the early hours in the Onnam Mile region of the Kizhisseri-Tavanur road.

Malappuram district police chief S Sujith Das, IPS, said that the Bihar native was tortured for two hours before the accused hauled his body and brought it to a nearby junction. Meanwhile, eight individuals have been arrested so far in connection with the incident.
"People attacked him, alleging he was a thief. They tortured him by questioning his whereabouts and visit purpose. He was beaten using plastic pipes and sticks. He was tortured from 12:15 am to 2:30 am. After he became unresponsive, they dragged his body to a nearby market area," he said.
It was the locals who reported the matter to the police, who rushed him to a nearby private hospital.
Rajesh Manjhi's body has been taken to Kozhikode Medical College Hospital. Police discovered several bruise marks all over his body.
Rajesh, who previously worked in Pattambi, arrived in Kizhisseri two days ago. Police said he came to the area to work at a chicken farm.
