Kollam: A DYFI activist was arrested by the police for allegedly tampering with National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) examination results. The accused has been identified as Sami Khan (21), member of DYFI’s regional committee in Madathara.
Reportedly, Khan, who failed to qualify for the NEET exam 2021-22, forged a marksheet with higher marks and later filed a petition in the high court alleging that he was not granted admission for higher education despite securing 468 marks.
Following this, the court summoned the officials of National Testing Agency (NTA) and instructed the rural SP to carry out an investigation into the incident.
The fraud came to light amid the probe launched by Chithara police and the cyber cell. According to the police, Khan secured only 16 marks in the NEET exam. He was arrested after being quizzed for a day.
Khan, who was remanded by the court, will be taken to police custody on Monday for further interrogation.
