Kakkanad: A youngster who tried to outsmart AI cameras by covering the number plates of his bullet using stickers, ultimately landed in trouble, after his vile act was noticed by the MVD officials. A fine of Rs 15,250 was slapped on him for the misconduct.
The Vazhakulam resident had arrived at the mining and geology department of the civil station to pay a fine in a different case. As he reached the location, he parked his bike near the parade ground beside the collectorate. At the same time, Ernakulam RTO officials Arun Dominic, Manoj, and Sageer, who were on their way back to office after conducting a road safety awareness class, noticed the individual’s bike parked near the ground.
The officials abruptly removed the stickers on the number plates, traced the contact of the individual, and summoned him to the spot. Upon questioning, he confessed that he used the stickers to escape from the watchful eyes of the AI cameras installed across the district.
The youngster paid the fine on the spot. He was penalised for multiple offences including riding without a mirror and for modifying the bike’s silencer. The RTO instructed him to fix all the identified issues within two weeks. If he fails to do so, his RC will be declared invalid.
