Search operations had continued late into the night near the Moozhikulam bridge

Kochi: The body of the three-year-old girl who went missing from Aluva has been found. Kalyani’s remains were recovered from Chalakkudy. Search operations had continued late into the night near the Moozhikulam bridge.
The investigation progressed based on a statement given by the child’s mother, who had told the police that the child was abandoned. Due to inconsistencies in her account, the Chengamanad police subjected her to further questioning. It was revealed that she had last been seen near the Moozhikulam bridge with the child.
Acting on this information, the Fire and Rescue Services, along with local residents, launched a search operation beneath the bridge. A scuba diving team also joined the search, continuing efforts past 2 AM. Eventually, the child’s body was found in the middle of the river.
