Thrissur: The Sangh Parivar is seeking more intervention in the South Indian states that are reluctant to implement central schemes including National Education Policy.

The Sangh Parivar Education Development Center will organise a three-day workshop in Kochi from July 27 to showcase projects aimed at universities.

The program will be attended by RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat and the VCs from most of the universities in India. Efforts are also being made to involve some VCs from Kerala. One of the main agendas of the RSS centenary celebrations, which will begin in October, is involvement in the education sector.

As part of this, campaigning and practical measures for the full implementation of the National Education Policy will be devised. The extent to which these can be used as a pressure factor in granting aid schemes, including those of the Central Government, will be discussed in Kochi. A similar program is being organised in Tamil Nadu.

The workshop will also devise effective defences against methods that interpret changes as saffronisation and a return to the Vedic period. Instead, the gathering will conceptually counter the portrayal of a closer understanding of India's unique scientific field as an attempt to impose mythology.

CM says even if he is the governor, he should follow procedure

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that law procedures must be followed, whether it is the governor or the officials. The Chief Minister's indirect criticism was made by referring to a media report that the governor had informed the DGP about his displeasure over not allowing police for the security of the Raj Bhavan. The government has no problem in allowing more police.

But there are procedures that the Governor's office must follow in making the request. It should be followed. No matter who makes the request, the officials should take action only after following government regulations, the Chief Minister said.
