According to officials, the last known mobile tower locations of the girl and Farman were traced to the Thrikkakara and Binanipuram areas

Kochi: Police from Madhya Pradesh have intensified their search for the ‘Kumbh Mela viral girl’ and her husband, Farman, in Kochi. A team that arrived in the city a few days ago is continuing its investigation to locate the pair.
The Madhya Pradesh Police are seeking to record the girl’s statement and have instructed those who previously arranged accommodation to produce her before them.
According to officials, the last known mobile tower locations of the girl and Farman were traced to the Thrikkakara and Binanipuram areas. In light of this, the search has been concentrated in Kochi, with assistance from the Kochi Police.
Meanwhile, the girl recently submitted an application to the Kochi Police requesting protection. She approached the authorities shortly after reports emerged of the Madhya Pradesh Police team’s arrival in the city. In her application, she stated that she does not wish to be taken to Madhya Pradesh, claiming she is 18 years old and residing in Kerala of her own free will. She has also submitted documents to support her claim.
However, after allegations surfaced that she is a minor, the Madhya Pradesh Police registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act against Farman. The case prompted their arrival in Kerala, and they are also investigating one of Farman’s associates.
Earlier, the girl and Farman were reportedly married in Thiruvananthapuram. Following the marriage, complaints were raised alleging she was underage, with claims that she was only 16 and that the documents submitted were forged. The National Commission for Scheduled Tribes also concluded that the girl was a minor, leading to the registration of the POCSO case.
