Kochi: An incident of security lapse has been reported at the Southern Naval Command in Kochi. The Naval Police nabbed a man who entered the Naval Base wearing Navy uniform.
As the man managed to spend about one and a half hours in the Naval Command which is considered a high security zone, the incident points out a serious security lapse.
The man hailing from Chirayinkeezhu in Thiruvananthapuram entered the Southern Naval Command after union minister Rajnath Singh and others visited the place the other day. Nobody noticed the man as he was wearing Navy uniform. Later, somebody realised that he was an outsider.
Following this, the Naval police nabbed him and handed over to Harbour police. It was found out after questioning him that he spent one and a half hour in the Naval Base. He stated that he went to the Naval Base as he wanted to join the Navy. The police recorded his arrest.
