Kochi: Police have registered a case against Mridanga Vision, the organizers of the 'Mridanganam' event, following the injury of MLA Uma Thomas, who fell from the stage during the program. The Public Works Department (PWD) will conduct a detailed inspection of the stage at Kaloor Stadium to prepare a scientific report for the investigation.
The police are set to question officials from Mridanga Vision and are gathering evidence against them. Initial findings reveal that the event, which had the support of the Greater Cochin Development Authority (GCDA), was conducted without obtaining the necessary permission from the corporation, a requirement for ticketed events.
GCDA Chairman K. Chandran Pillai stated that strict action will be taken against those responsible for the mishap. He also announced that the security protocols at Kaloor Stadium will be revised to prevent similar incidents in the future.
