Dramatic scenes: Kochi Corporation dumps waste at Brahmapuram plant in wee hours

Kochi: Kochi Corporation dumped waste including plastic materials in the Brahmapuram solid waste treatment plan here in the wee hours of Saturday. The dramatic waste dumping happened under police security, despite the government's claims that plastic dumping at the plant will be restricted. The garbages piled up in the various parts of the city for the last week was shifted to Brahmapuram plant.

Over 40 lorries carrying waste loads reached the Brahmapuram plant. Though the Congress activists and some locals attempted to stop the lorries, police forcefully removed them.

The lorries arrived in front of the corporation office after 1 am from where they proceeded to Brahmapuram with police protection.
