Kochi: The Kerala State Beverages Corporation (BEVCO) outlet at Kadavanthra in Kochi recorded liquor sales exceeding ₹1 crore in a single day, emerging as the state’s top-performing outlet on January 1.

According to official figures, the Kadavanthra outlet posted sales of ₹1,00,16,610 on January 1. The Ravipuram outlet, also in Kochi, secured second place with sales of ₹95,08,670, while the Kuttipala outlet in Edappal ranked third, registering sales of ₹82,86,090.

Statewide, BEVCO outlets recorded liquor sales of ₹105.78 crore on January 1, marking a sharp rise compared to ₹97.13 crore in sales recorded on the same day in 2024.

Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL) accounted for the highest share of sales at ₹92.89 crore, followed by beer at ₹9.83 crore. Sales of foreign-made foreign liquor (FMFL) stood at ₹1.58 crore, wine at ₹1.40 crore and foreign-made wine at ₹5.95 lakh.

The Kadavanthra outlet had also posted strong sales during the festive season. On Christmas Eve, liquor sales at the outlet touched ₹66.88 lakh, placing it third among BEVCO outlets in the state. On New Year’s Eve, the outlet recorded Indian-made foreign liquor sales of ₹69.87 lakh.

On the same day, sales at Kadavanthra included ₹15.04 lakh worth of foreign-made foreign liquor, ₹11.81 lakh in beer, ₹3 lakh in wine and ₹42,710 in foreign-made wine.
