In the wake of heightened tensions between India and Pakistan, social media platforms are witnessing a surge of misinformation. One such viral post claims that all airports across India have been shut down.

However, the claim has been found to be baseless. While a few airports may be closed due to specific operational or security reasons, no blanket suspension of airport operations has been announced nationally.

Amid the circulation of this misleading content, the authorities of Cochin International Airport issued an advisory on Friday to clarify the situation.

“All arrival and departure operations at Cochin International Airport are continuing as normal. However, due to the ongoing situation, security checks may take longer than usual. Passengers are kindly advised to arrive at the airport well in advance – at least three hours before domestic departures and five hours before international departures – to ensure a smooth travel and avoid last-minute inconvenience. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding,” the statement from CIAL read.
