Kozhikode: In connection with the disproportionate assets case, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is taking the statement of MLA K M Shaji's wife Asha on Monday. The ED summoned Asha to record her statement in the case for taking bribery to allot Plus Two course to a school. The statement is being recorded at the ED office in Kozhikode.

Asha's statement is recorded ahead of taking the statement of K M Shaji on Tuesday. The houses in Azhikode and Kozhikode are in the name of Asha. ED will ask about the financial sources related to the construction of the houses and about the bank transactions made in last 10 years.

Kannur block panchayat president Padmanabhan had filed a complaint to the vigilance that K M Shaji received Rs 25 lakh as bribe for allotting Plus Two for a school in Azhikode constituency. Following this, the ED started investigation to find out the financial sources.
