The Kerala Tax Practitioners Association has now called for an extension of the filing deadline to address the ongoing crisis in filing GST.

Thrissur: Traders and tax practitioners were unable to file their GST returns for May despite the deadline due to a software glitch. The date for filing GST returns for May ended on June 11. The return filing crisis was caused due to the new arrangements made by the GST department regarding the HSN number recorded on the sales bill.
Although an offline tool was provided on the GST department's website a few days ago to resolve the issue, it also had technical issues. Kerala Tax Practitioners Association Regional President K. R. Muraleedharan and Secretary P. S. Ramesh Babu have demanded an extension of the date for filing GST tax returns.
