Kochi: The matters considered by various benches of High Court judges have been reshuffled. The cases regarding police protection and police misconduct were transferred to the bench of Justice Anu Sivaraman from the bench of Justice Devan Ramachandran.
Usually, the cases which are under consideration of a judge are reshuffled when High Court is closed for vacations. The current change will take effect when the court reopens after the Christmas holidays.
There is also a change in the consideration list for bail petitions. The police faced under immense criticism from the high court in the Monson Mavunkal case and the case against the Pink police officer.
Meanwhile, the High Court stated that the change in the matters considered by the benches is normal. The court said such changes are common when the court reopens after vacation.
