Chemmad: A man died after he was attacked by a hive of bees at Chemmad in Kozhikode here on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Yacob (62). He was severely stung by bees after the hive was damaged by an eagle causing bees to attack the passerby.

He was shifted to Meengangadi hospital but later succumbed to injuries.  

The incident happened around 2 PM on Sunday. The bees also attacked Krishnadas, a motorcyclist and his friend. Both were shifted to hospitals. It is learned that their injuries are not serious. Later, the forest officials removed the beehive.
