Kozhikode: Prominent architect P Abdul Hameed (71) passed away at a private hospital in Kozhikode on Monday evening while undergoing treatment for cancer. Despite suffering from cancer for last five years, he continued to be active in his social life.
He graduated in Electrical Engineering from Regional Engineering Collge (now NIT Calicut), Kozhikode in 1972 and later ventured into the field of Architecture. Later, in 1981, he started Abdul Hameed Consultancy Pvt. Ltd.
He designed projects such as the Kozhikode Chamber of Commerce, IQRAA International Hospital & Research Centre, MIMS, Kochi Travancore Court and Dubai Customs Museum (UAE).
