The office of Kerala Governor Rajendra Arlekar has intimated that he will not be attending the dinner hosted by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. Reports suggest that the governor feels such an event could send an inappropriate message.
The governor maintained that, given the controversy surrounding the Chief Minister's daughter, Veena Vijayan, accepting such an invitation would send the wrong message.
Around a month ago, the chief minister and his wife had visited Raj Bhavan to extend a dinner invitation, which was scheduled for Sunday evening. However, sources confirm that the Kerala Governor has declined the invitation.
Besides the Kerala Governor, the Goa Governor, P. S. Sreedharan Pillai, and West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose had also been invited to the dinner. The Goa Governor's office has stated that no invitation was received for this event.
