Southern Railway has announced that two additional General Class Coaches will be added to the Mangaluru Central-Nagercoil Junction-Mangaluru Central Parasuram Express (Train No. 16649/16650) in response to increased passenger demand.

These coaches will be added temporarily as the train services will extend their route temporarily to Kanyakumari due to ongoing infrastructure improvements in the Nagercoil area.

The revised coach composition will include 16 General Class Coaches, 02 AC Chair Car Coaches, 03 Chair Car Coaches, and 02 Second Class Luggage cum Brake Van Coaches, ensuring accessibility for passengers with disabilities.

The revised timings for the extended route are as follows:

For Train No. 16649 Mangaluru Central - Kanyakumari Parasuram Express (Effective from July 3), departure from Mangaluru Central will be at 05:05, with arrival/departure at Nagercoil Junction scheduled for 20:20/20:25, and arrival at Kanyakumari at 21:15.

For Train No. 16650 Mangaluru Central - Kanyakumari Parasuram Express (Effective from July 4), arrival at Mangaluru Central will be at 21:10, with arrival/departure at Nagercoil Junction scheduled for 04:05/04:10, and departure from Kanyakumari at 03:45.

This extension and augmentation aim to improve service efficiency and cater to the growing travel demands during the ongoing infrastructure enhancements in the region.
