Kerala is set to enhance its tourism experience with the introduction of Artificial Intelligence (AI) kiosks at major tourist destinations. These kiosks are designed to assist tourists by providing personalised guidance, much like a tourist guide, and will soon be an integral part of Kerala’s tourism infrastructure.
These smart kiosks will act as digital guides, helping tourists navigate the state's attractions and services with ease.
In the first phase, the kiosks will be installed at selected airports, major tourist destinations, and railway stations across the state. Designed to be user-friendly, these kiosks will provide personalised recommendations based on the interests and preferences of the tourists. By analysing their likes, dislikes and past travel experiences, the kiosks can even suggest new travel destinations that match their individual tastes.
One of the standout features of these kiosks is their ability to interact with tourists in multiple languages. The system will support a wide range of languages, making it accessible for both domestic and international visitors.
These smart kiosks will also come with integrated navigation systems, offering step-by-step directions to help tourists navigate their way to different destinations. Visitors will have real-time interactions through AI chatbots that can answer questions, give suggestions, and provide valuable insights into the best spots to visit in the state. The kiosks will also allow tourists to conveniently book cabs, train tickets, and flights directly through the platform, making travel arrangements even easier.
Additionally, the kiosks will feature voice and text-based options for interaction, ensuring ease of use for all types of travelers. To ensure the privacy and security of user data, robust cybersecurity measures will be in place.
To bring this innovative service to life, the Kerala Startup Mission has invited letter of interest from startups to develop these AI kiosks, with the possibility of incorporating facial recognition technology to offer more personalised services to visitors.
