
Kuthuparamba: A Plus One student, Mohammed Shadil, was injured in a porcupine attack here in Kannur on Tuesday morning. The 17-year-old student was on his way to the madrasa when the incident occurred.
At around 5:30 am, Mohammed Shadil was riding his scooter when a porcupine suddenly jumped across the road. In a desperate attempt to avoid the animal, Shadil tried to abandon his scooter, but the porcupine attacked him. The sharp quills of the porcupine pierced deeply into his hands, with reports indicating that a total of 12 quills were stuck in his skin.
Some of the quills pierced through his hand. Shadil was rushed to a private hospital in Thalassery, where doctors removed the quills from his hand.
