
Thrissur: The Kerala State Handicapped Persons Welfare Corporation helped 12 couples enter married life. The wedding ceremony took place at Thrissur town hall. It was also a moment of pride for Kerala State Handicapped Persons Welfare Corporation, that was launched in 2005 by Kadhar Nattika.
The association that has 60,000 members all over Kerala has so far led 120 couple into marriage. The association started organizing community marriages in 2012 besides taking the lead in organizing wedding registrations.
The bride and the groom will be given wedding attires, gold for the ‘Mangal Sutra’, the ring and essential commodities after marriage.
The marriage is organized without any caste and religious differences. The marriage will be registered as per special marriage act. Out of the 12 couples, 8 couples had inter-caste wedding.
Justice Kemal Pasha was the chief guest for the event. Association president Dr Thresia Dias was also present along with other dignitaries.
