Kerala district collectors declare school holiday on July 26 due to IMD rain warning

In light of continued rainfall and the India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) warning of very heavy rain and strong winds, select districts in Kerala have announced a holiday for all educational institutions on Saturday, July 26.
Kottayam
The district administration of Kottayam has declared a holiday covering all educational institutions, including professional colleges, anganwadis, vacation-time arts and sports training centres, and religious education institutions. The order clearly states that examinations previously scheduled will go ahead as planned and are exempted from the holiday.
Pathanamthitta
The Pathanamthitta district administration has also announced a holiday on July 26 for all educational institutions. The closure applies to anganwadis, schools, professional colleges, and tuition centres in the district due to heavy rainfall conditions.
Ernakulam
In response to strong winds and heavy rain, and with an orange alert in place, the Ernakulam district administration has declared a holiday on Saturday, July 26, for all educational institutions, including professional colleges, anganwadis, and tuition centres.
Heads of institutions have been instructed to make appropriate arrangements to compensate for the academic time lost due to the closure.
