Kerala ration card holders can apply for conversion to the BPL (priority) category through Akshaya Centres. Check eligibility and process.

Palakkad: Ration card holders in Kerala have been given another opportunity to convert their cards to the priority category (BPL).
Applications can be submitted through Akshaya Centres from November 17 to December 16 for the conversion process.
Typically, applicants seeking a new ration card are first allotted a white card. After verification of their income certificate and family circumstances, those found eligible are upgraded to the priority category (BPL–pink card).
Officials said the current window allows eligible households to apply for this conversion and benefit from the state’s welfare provisions for families below the poverty line.
