Thiruvananthapuram: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for several districts across Kerala, forecasting heavy rainfall in isolated places over the next five days.

Yellow alert issued in 8 southern and central districts

As per the latest weather update, isolated heavy downpours are expected across southern and central regions. The IMD has declared a yellow alert for eight districts.

What yellow alert means

A yellow alert denotes the likelihood of isolated heavy rainfall ranging between 64.5 mm and 115.5 mm within a 24-hour window. Residents living in hilly, landslide-prone and low-lying coastal areas are advised to exercise caution and stay updated.
