Kerala rain alert today: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for five districts in the state on Friday, September 25, with isolated heavy rainfall expected in parts of Kerala.

The yellow alert is in effect in Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod. The remaining districts are under green alert, according to the weather forecast provided by the IMD.

For people in the five districts, the forecast means there is a possibility of heavy rain at isolated places. The IMD classifies heavy rainfall as 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm of rain within 24 hours.

The yellow alert indicates the possibility of heavy rainfall in some locations. It does not mean that every part of the district will receive heavy rain.
