The state government had argued that many departments were unable to report vacancies in recent months due to election-related procedures, affecting the appointment process.

Thiruvananthapuram: In a major relief for thousands of PSC job aspirants in Kerala, the Public Service Commission (PSC) on Monday decided to extend the validity of rank lists expiring between May 21 and August 31 till November 30.
The decision was taken after the PSC considered the state Cabinet’s recommendation seeking an extension of rank lists in view of delays in vacancy reporting by government departments during the Assembly election period.
With the latest move, around 100 rank lists will now get an additional validity period ranging from three to six months.
The extension will benefit candidates included in several state-level and district-level rank lists, including Assistant Professor posts in colleges, Special Branch Assistant in the police department, Fisheries Assistant posts, Supplyco Assistant Salesman and High School Teacher rank lists.
The state government had argued that many departments were unable to report vacancies in recent months due to election-related procedures, affecting the appointment process.
The extension is expected to offer significant relief to candidates awaiting advice memos and appointments from the PSC.
