Kalikavu: Starting Wednesday, citizens visiting police stations in Malappuram can immediately lodge a complaint online by scanning a QR code placed in the stations if they are not happy with the behaviour of the officers. District Police Chief S. Sasidharan informed the media about the upcoming facility, which will be implemented in stations across Malappuram.
According to reports, the initiative will roll out in Malappuram district and in Thrissur city first. The QR codes are being installed to enable swift reporting of any perceived misconduct by the police. Such complaints will be received at the offices of the respective district police chiefs.
This initiative marks another instance of leveraging technology to enhance policing in the state.
