Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Police have introduced a special WhatsApp number for people who fall victim to online frauds via unauthorised loan apps, to lodge their complaints. Those who wish to report such frauds can contact 9497980900, and avail services 24 hours a day. 

Complaints can be lodged via text, photo, video and voice message formats only. Dialling features to file complaints are not available. If necessary, then police officers will contact the complainant to gather further information. 

With the new initiative, Kerala Police has begun awareness campaigns against increasing online loan app frauds taking place in the state.
