Kerala police constable Manikandan goes viral for clearing traffic on foot to help an ambulance reach the hospital. The video of his sprint has earned widespread praise on social media

Amballur (Thrissur): While running through the crowded traffic, whistling and making way for ambulances, Manikandan did not even think that his life would also go viral along with his run. Manikandan, a policeman from the Muttikkulangara AR camp in Palakkad, is currently a star on social media.
A video showing Manikandan running alongside an ambulance, clearing traffic on the highway, has gone viral across social media platforms. He is now being widely praised for his swift and selfless action. The video was first posted by the ambulance driver, who was transporting a patient from Thrissur to Ernakulam, and was later shared by the official social media pages of the Kerala Police.
Manikandan paves the way for more than 20 ambulances on the national highway every day. This 33-year-old, a native of Kottayi, Palakkad, joined the police force three months ago.
Manikandan, who arrived at Puthukkad station a week ago, was in charge of traffic control in Amballur. Although he was initially dubious by the traffic jam in Amballur, Manikandan says that the job became exciting once he started guiding the ambulances out of the traffic quickly.
