Kollam: The police have nabbed two individuals in connection with placing a telephone post across a railway track in Kundara.

The accused, identified as Rajesh and Arun, both residents of Kundara, were arrested after police obtained CCTV footage of the incident.

The accused are also involved in the case of attacking a Sub Inspector in Kundara. The authorities are investigating the motive behind such actions. Both suspects are being questioned at the Kundara police station, with senior police officers and railway crime branch officials from Madurai arriving on-site for further questioning.

Central agencies have also inquired about the case. The arrests came just hours after the incident, and authorities are now probing if others were involved.

The suspects were tracked down with the help of cyber cell assistance. CCTV footage provided clear evidence of their involvement, and police traced their mobile numbers to confirm their location near the railway track at the time of the incident.

The telephone post was first noticed on the railway track at around 1:30 a.m. A local resident alerted the authorities, and the post was initially removed by the police. However, when railway police arrived later for further investigation, the post was spotted again on the track, raising suspicions of a planned sabotage.
