Kochi: The visuals showing the youngsters dropping off two girls in front of Kaloor church have come out. The car driven by the youngsters was involved in an accident in Kaloor that killed a fisherman.

The youngsters dropped off the girls in the middle of the road after the accident. The girls wearing uniforms can be seen leaving the car.

The youngsters were at first booked for involuntary manslaughter and drug trafficking. But on further questioning the girls, it was learned that they were subjected to sexual abuse. The police have registered a POCSO case against the youngsters Jithu and Sebastian who were in the car.

The accident happened at around 6 pm on Thursday. The car hit an autorickshaw in front of Pavakulam Sree Mahadeva Temple in Kaloor, hit two other vehicles and sped away from there. The girls can be seen stepping out of the car when it stopped between Kaloor Church and Deshabhimani junction. The car that sped away from the accident scene without stopping was waylaid by the locals.

The police had narrowed down on racing as a possible cause of the accident in the first stage of the investigation. But on detailed inspection, cannabis was found inside the car. It was also found that the youngsters were using synthetic drugs extensively. The girls revealed that they were given drugs and that the men tried to take advantage of them. Police are also investigating other possible criminal involvements of the youngsters.

Police have received information that these men have been involved in similar situations before and that they have supplied drugs to many students. ACP and other officials informed that there is, in fact, a racket that runs by giving drugs to girls and then abusing them physically.
