Ernakulam: The identity of the first-prize winner of the Kerala Thiruvonam Bumper BR-105 Lottery, worth ₹25 crore, remains shrouded in mystery.
Reports indicate that the winner has not yet visited the lottery agency where the ticket was sold, though the ticket is expected to be surrendered at the bank on Monday.
However, media outlets had reported that the winner is a woman who wishes to remain anonymous.
The winning ticket, TH 577825, was purchased from a lottery agency at Nettoor, Ernakulam. After tax and agency commission deductions, the winner is expected to receive around ₹15.75 crore.
Lottery agent Latheesh told Mathrubhumi News that the winner prefers to stay away from public attention. According to him, information received through a mutual acquaintance indicated that the woman had moved to her daughter’s house after the draw.
Earlier, CCTV footage had shown a woman visiting the agency, leading to speculation about her identity. However, the agent clarified that the actual winner has not yet come to the shop.
