Kollam: Dinesh Kumar, a native of Thodiyoor in Karunagappally, expressed immense joy at winning the first prize of ₹12 crore in the Pooja Bumper lottery. Dinesh said he had learned about his win on Wednesday itself. He also shared that he had won ₹50,000 and ₹10,000 in previous draws and narrowly missed out on the ₹12 crore prize in 2019 as it was awarded to a consecutive ticket number.
Dinesh said he regularly purchased bumper lottery tickets and avoided buying smaller ones. This was the first time he bought a ticket from Jayakumar Lottery Centre in Kollam. He usually buys 10 tickets at a time and distributes them among his family members, including his father, mother and sisters. Dinesh mentioned that he always had a hope of winning.

Dinesh purchased 10 tickets from the Jayakumar Lottery Centre in Kollam. Besides the ₹12 crore first prize, he will also receive the agency commission. He informed his wife and children about the win only on Thursday morning.
When asked about his plans for the money, Dinesh said he intends to invest it initially for a while. He also expressed a desire to help some genuine and deserving people in his locality who have been deceived in the past. He said he has plans to assist those who have lost their land, provide homes for the homeless, and offer medical aid with the help of the government and charitable organisations. Dinesh stressed the importance of supporting those who have been financially exploited or lost their property.
Dinesh said he does not feel any fear about becoming a millionaire and intends to live his life as it has always been. He also praised the Kerala lottery system, calling it a great initiative that provides employment to thousands of people. According to him, one can only win a lottery by purchasing tickets, and he encouraged others to do the same. He noted that complaining about not winning without buying tickets makes no sense, and added that even purchasing just one or two tickets could change fortunes.
