Thiruvananthapuram: In a massive facelift, Kerala Lottery Department has unveiled Grasshopper as their official mascot and emblem (logo). 

In a press conference held on Friday, Finance Minister K.N. Balagopal unveiled the mascot designed by Ratheesh Ravi and the emblem by Sathyapal Sreedhar. 

The turbo model and 2D animation of the mascot were prepared by artist-sculptor Jinan and Sudheer P Yusuf, respectively. 

According to popular beliefs in some cultures, grasshoppers are associated with good luck, wealth, and prosperity.
