Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala State Lottery’s Christmas–New Year Bumper has registered record-breaking ticket sales, crossing the 50-lakh mark days ahead of the draw. As of Wednesday afternoon, a total of 51,66,810 tickets had already been sold, surpassing last year’s figure of 47,65,650 tickets.
With demand continuing to surge, the department released an additional five lakh tickets into the market.
The bumper draw carries a first prize of ₹20 crore, making it one of the most awaited lottery events of the year in Kerala.
Palakkad tops ticket sales
Among districts, Palakkad recorded the highest sales with 12,20,520 tickets, followed by Thrissur with 5,44,340 tickets. Thiruvananthapuram stood third with 5,15,090 tickets sold.
Kollam, which sold 3,34,910 tickets, moved to fourth place, overtaking Ernakulam, while Kannur ranked fifth with 3,11,780 tickets sold.
Prize structure
Apart from the ₹20 crore jackpot, the Kerala Lottery Christmas–New Year Bumper offers multiple major prizes:
- Second prize: ₹1 crore each for 20 winners
- Third prize: ₹10 lakh each for 20 winners
- Fourth prize: ₹3 lakh each for 20 winners
- Fifth prize: ₹2 lakh each for 20 winners
Tickets are issued across 10 series, and the nine series that do not win the first prize will receive ₹1 lakh consolation prizes each, provided the ticket number matches the first prize-winning number. Smaller prizes of ₹5,000, ₹2,000, ₹1,000, ₹500 and ₹400 are also included.
In total, 6,21,990 prizes will be distributed, making the Kerala Lottery Christmas–New Year Bumper one of the most rewarding and popular lottery draws in the state.
