Kerala logs 6075 fresh COVID cases, 32 deaths, 6061 recoveries
Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala recorded 6,075 new Covid-19 cases on Saturday, informed the health department in a press release. The test positivity rate was recorded at10.05 percent.
Along with 32 fresh COVID deaths, the health department also reported 216 deaths that are newly certified as Covid-19 deaths based on revised rules. With this, the death toll climbed to 37,299 in the state.
The district-wise statistics of positive cases: Thiruvananthapuram-949, Ernakulam-835, Kollam-772, Thrissur-722, Kozhikode-553, Kottayam- 488, Kannur-367, Idukki-241, Malappuram-215, Alappuzha-213, Pathanamthitta-212, Palakkad-205, Wayanad-203, and Kasaragod-100.
A total of 60,437 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. The local bodies have been categorised based on the weekly infection population ratio (WIPR). WIPR is above 10 in 46 wards of 39 local self-government bodies.
1,92,854 people are currently under observation in the state. Out of this, 1,87,692 people are under home/institutional quarantine and 5,162 people are in hospitals. 302 people were taken to hospitals on Saturday.
Among the 61,114 active Covid cases reported, only 6.8 percent of patients are admitted to hospitals/field hospitals.
24 of the new COVID patients were returned from outside the state. 5,686 people contracted the virus through contact. The infection source of 330 patients remains unidentified. 35 health workers also tested positive for Covid-19.
Meanwhile, 6,061 recoveries were also reported in the state.

49,96,878 people were recovered from the disease so far.
