Kochi: The Kerala State Beverages Corporation (BEVCO) has announced a reduction in alcohol prices across the state. The price cut ranges from ₹10 to ₹50 depending on the brand and category.

New rates effective from Tuesday
The revised prices will come into effect from Tuesday, and all retail outlets have been instructed to update billing systems accordingly.
According to officials, 500 ml bottles will generally see a price reduction of around ₹10, while mid-range and premium brands may see cuts ranging from ₹20 to ₹50.
More than 50 liquor brands are expected to be covered under the new pricing structure.
Reason behind price revision
BEVCO officials stated that the price change has been implemented based on directives from manufacturing companies rather than a government tax adjustment.
The revision is also linked to market performance, with some brands included after a recent decline in sales.
The price reduction is expected to influence retail sales patterns across the state, especially for high-demand brands.
Officials have confirmed that necessary software updates have already been completed to ensure smooth implementation of the new rates from the start of business on Tuesday.
