Kannur: K Sudhakaran on Sunday said he will not resign as KPCC president. Although he initially expressed his intention to step down following his arrest in the Monson Mavunkal fraud case, Sudhakaran stated that the party's high command and leaders unanimously urged him to continue in his role.

"In light of being accused in a case, I personally believe it would be morally incorrect for me to remain in leadership. Thus, I offered my resignation as it is my responsibility. However, the leadership and high command have come together and firmly stated that I should carry on without dwelling on unnecessary concerns. I accept their decision, and the matter is now closed," Sudhakaran told the media in Kannur.

Furthermore, Sudhakaran has filed a plea with the court to dismiss the fraud case against him. He has also mentioned that a defamation lawsuit will be filed against MV Govindan and the party's mouthpiece Desabhimani within the next two days for implicating him in the POCSO case involving Monson.

In response to Sudhakaran's statement, CPM state secretary MV Govindan clarified that the party will legally address the defamation case. CPM leader AK Balan alleged that Congress members orchestrated the fraud case against Sudhakaran.
