Palakkad: A 20-year-old girl was found hanged at her house in Ummini here on Sunday. The deceased is identified as Beena, daughter of Subramanian and Devaki. She was a third-year student at a private college in Palakkad.

According to reports, Beena was found hanged on the window of the room when her family members reached her room in search of her. It is learnt that she didn’t come out of the room after going for a shower on Sunday morning. Though she was rushed to the hospital, she was declared dead there.

Beena’s brother and family alleged that she committed suicide as disappointed over the non-payment of the exam fee at the college. On the other day, her mother visited the college for paying the fee. But the college authority only accepted the tuition fee and refused to accept the exam fee citing that they have already forwarded the exam fee link to the university. Following this, Beena’s mother returned home and informed this matter to her.

According to her relatives, Beena was very upset after failing to pay the exam fee. They assumed that she decided to end her life due to this disappointment.
