Earlier, the collegium held in March 2019 had recommended the Union Ministry of Law to elevate Muhammed Nias C P and Paul K K as judges in Kerala high court. Later, the collegium held in May 2019 recommended Viju Abraham. However, the ministry sent back all three recommendations for a review.
The collegium headed by Chief Justice S A Bobde decided to reiterate the recommendation after examining the note handed over by the Ministry of Law. As the recommendation was reiterated, the central government will have to issue appointment order, the apex court sources said.
Meanwhile, the collegium also approved the proposal for elevation of judicial officer A Badharudeen as judge in the Kerala high court.
