
Kochi: The Kerala High Court on Tuesday stayed the vigilance investigation into sand mining in Pamba.
The order issued by the Thiruvananthapuram vigilance court was stayed by the HC. The investigation has been stayed for two months.
The sand mining in Pamba was one of the serious allegations raised by the Opposition against the state government. In connection with this, the Thiruvananthapuram vigilance court had ordered an investigation. The state government approached the High Court challenging this order.
The state government approached the High Court making Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala the defendant. Following this, the HC stopped the vigilance probe temporarily. A final decision in this regard will be taken after a detailed hearing after two months.
