Thodupuzha: The Motor Vehicle Department will take strict action against vehicles which are modified and are using sun films. Action must be taken against the vehicles which are not properly installed with indicator and headlight, directs the order issued by the joint transport commissioner on June 8.
The order was issued as per the recommendations given by the High Court regarding the road safety on April 9.
The court also asked the government to submit a report regarding this. In this background, joint transport commissioner TC Vinesh has directed RTOs and Enforcement RTOs across the state to intensify the inspections and submit the report.
As the government has given lockdown relaxations, the motor vehicle department has started inspection in various districts.
The court recommended to ensure that rules related to road safety are strictly followed in the state.
Based on this, vehicles which use curtain, sun films, display national flag unofficially and modify parts will face action.
The MVD also warned strict action against improper installation of reflectors on multi-axle vehicles, pasting film on indicator and light and using illegal number plate.
The order issued by the joint transport commissioner also directed to cancel fitness to school buses which evade the norms.
