Kerala’s final electoral roll for local body polls lists 2.83 crore voters, 16.34 lakh more than the draft list.

Thiruvananthapuram: The State Election Commission on Tuesday released the final voters’ list for the upcoming local body elections, revealing an addition of 16,34,216 voters compared to the draft roll published earlier. With this, the total electorate now stands at 2,83,12,472.
The draft list released on July 23 had 2,66,78,256 voters. In comparison, there were 2,76,56,910 voters in the 2020 local body elections and 2,77,49,159 voters in the last Lok Sabha elections.
The State Election Commission said the numbers published on Tuesday are still subject to change. After the draft roll was issued, 29,81,310 people applied to add their names, and the new list was prepared after resolving applications for additions and corrections.
The new list includes 1,33,52,951 men, 1,49,59,245 women and 276 transgender voters. In addition, 2,087 people are listed as non-resident voters.
The updated roll can be verified on the commission’s website, sec.kerala.gov.in, and at local bodies, taluk and village offices.
