Thiruvananthapuram: Veena George, the newly inducted health minister of Kerala, paid tributes to nurse Lini who contracted the Nipah virus while nursing a patient and passed away on May 21, 2018. On the occasion of sister Lini’s third death anniversary, the new health minister called up the nurse’s husband Sajeesh.
Veena George herself revealed about the phone conversation with Sajeesh through her Facebook page.
"Sister Lini’s sacrifice in the battle against the contagious disease will be remembered forever. Marking Lini’s death anniversary, her family is donating food materials to the community kitchen at Chakkittapara panchayat. The family observes Lini’s remembrance day in an ideal way,” wrote the health minister on her Facebook page.
She also hailed Lini’s fight with the Nipah virus and precautions to keep her dear ones safe.
The health minister pointed out that Lini’s life will motivate the health workers to battle against COVID-19.
