Kottayam: Minister VN Vasavan on Saturday visited Vava Suresh who is undergoing treatment at the medical college hospital following the mishap at Kurichy.

Vasan, on his Facebook post, said that Suresh agreed to take rest for some time as advised by the doctors. He also agreed to follow precautions while catching snakes, the minister added. Vasavan visited him upon Suresh's request.

Suresh sustained the bite of a cobra and was admitted to the hospital in a critical condition. He is now out of ICU.

Following the mishap, the forest department is now planning to ban untrained snake catchers. Suresh does not have a certificate to catch the snakes.
